You can also now auto-apply module group presets depending on the type of image you are editing. The manage module layouts window has also been enhanced to include setup for the quick access panel. Modules can now be quickly added to or removed from a module group by right-clicking on the group tabs. This new implementation is GUI only – controls and pixel filters still belong to their respective modules and can be properly moved along the pipeline individually using their original, linked, module. Users can add controls from any module to the quick access panel for increased productivity and enhanced ergonomics. This feature provides a new interface to the existing processing modules within a single unified layout. The quick access panel is a replacement for the basic adjustments module and much more. If you think about it, this approach gives you greater freedom of customization than is usual, and it's not that much different from the concept of customized workspaces as employed in Capture One or DxO PhotoLab. Darktable styles can be thought of as engendering the idea of customized workspaces. This way all your favourite modules are pre-loaded in the very first, active modules tab in darkroom. Another thing is developing your favourite processing styles which you can apply to a batch of photos in the lighttable (Library) workspace, even before you venture into the darkroom (Develop) workspace. I have added that to the Favourites but yet it is cumbersome to search for it every time and for some reason.Īdding a module to the Favourites tab is one thing you can do.
